Accepting visitors! Labor Day 2011
I was just looking through some pictures and re-living some great moments from the last year. Matthews Alive is one of my favorites, particularly last year because Z was finally old enough and brave enough to ride the carnival rides. Matthews Alive is a 3 day street festival that happens every year on Labor day in downtown Matthews. Our humble abode is walking distance to this fabulous yearly event filled with three days of food, music, crafts and fun! Please let us know if you would like to come and visit this year, we would LOVE to share the holiday weekend festivities with our friends and family. Carson and the wave!
While in Paso for Christmas, we took a side trip to Carmel and The Monterey Bay Aquarium. Carson and Zack loved the Aquarium and all the fun things to see, hear, and touch. One of the most impressive features of the aquarium was the wave tunnel. Hopefully these pictures will give you an idea of how impressive it is but you will miss the sound of being "inside" a wave!
Just thought I would mention that I LOVE Carmel, it was such a treat to have a hotel room in walking distance to all the food and art that Carmel has to offer. It was nice to enjoy a night out with the whole family the first night we were there and then it was quite a treat to go out just Blake, Julie, Wes and I the second night while Lettice and Jeff watched the children. The whole mini trip was beyond fun for all of us!
It has been almost a year...
...since we have blogged on this site. Poor Carson hardly has any pictures documenting his life, and this makes me sad because I too was a second child and I always felt left out of the picture taking frenzy that follows a first born.
This past year has been hectic and fun filled to say the very least...we have made so many new friends here in NC, have had lots of friends and family visit us, and we have gone many adventures. I will try to fill in the pictures and anecdotes that we have experienced last year, as we go on this year being mindful to document the many moments that enrich our lives.
